Merge specific changesets in git

I’ve been trying to figure out a way to get only a specific change to a specific branch. I understand how to specify a patch and get it, but I need to specify that I only want to pull in a specific change. My issue comes when I need to specify what changes to pull in.
The workflow I need is something like this:

git checkout branch -m ‘My branch’
Pull latest from remote
Apply changeset 1
Pull latest from remote
Apply changeset 2
…
…
…

The reason for the -m switch is that I want to then merge the resulting patch to another branch (lets call this the master branch).

There’s a lot more to the patch that I’m aware of but I’m not yet aware of how to proceed from here. I’m guessing that I should be using something like git cherry-pick but how should I be doing it? If someone could guide me through this, it’d be much appreciated.
