While the official version of Iren シリーズ will be a Japanese only release, the international western release of Iren has not been announced and there are currently no plans for it. In addition, the western release plans for all other nations are currently under discussion. I wanted to make everyone aware of this situation and remind them of my feelings on this matter. The development of the western release is always most important to me so I apologize to anyone worried about the future of this title. In addition to the game being beautifully drawn and entertaining, I really liked how each weapon had a different appeal or strategy behind it. Each weapon’s purpose was crystal clear when I was able to unlock the corresponding weapon.
One of the best parts of the game was after defeating a boss or exploring a dungeon, that the screen would switch over to a new dungeon map that contained more information about the boss and the level of difficulty the dungeon had.
On top of that, I really liked how the background of the dungeons changed during the night, and the area would flood with light, and a great many monsters would swarm around you.
During the night, the monsters would also grow in number, causing the battle to become even more difficult, especially when you had to choose between multiple monsters that you should defeat to move forward. Even if you were equipped with a weapon that had a high attack power, there was also a possibility that you would make some mistakes while you were being attacked, which could result in you getting your weapon destroyed, or your HP getting too low.
In order to defeat monsters that were attacking you, you’d have to use up your escape spell, and if you were caught in the middle of a critical situation, your character would have to stay on the ground for a long time, which might result in losing HP or having to go back to the town.
In addition to the monsters that were disturbing the peaceful night, there were also some enemies that would join the battle. Each enemy had an individual move, so they would often interrupt the fight, making it difficult to attack them.
In the previous game in this series, I was rather disappointed by the fact that you could only bring one weapon along with you to the dungeon. Since you’d have to keep running back and forth to carry it around, this left a lot of things left to chance.
But, in this game, you can custom build your character. In addition to having a neat look, it has special attributes.
The “Life” and “Strength” are for HP.
It’s good to have a character that is equipped with a strength weapon, but I feel that your character will be overpowered if you use it as a weapon all the time.
