Clippers are also used to make the cutting of hair in wet conditions comfortable, since the problem of slipping and falling into the water is avoided. Additionally, the use of a clipper may allow a person to carry a wet razor, for example, in a tool pouch of his or her backpack, rather than a wet towel, which is a problem.
In many instances, the clipper includes a water trap, and the water trap typically collects the water in a sump that is located beneath the blade and blade guard of the clipper. Additionally, in some instances, the water trap is placed at the side of the clipper and is not located directly beneath the blade.Q:

How to fail a file upload if the image is too large

I need to warn the user that the uploaded image exceeds the allowed size.
I could use an input field with a « max size exceeded » label and then use the server’s script to refuse to process the upload if the size is too large.
I’d rather not use the above method as it could do things like refuse to process a large picture of a cat (as the script will have to look for additional image content to serve the response), or refuse to process a large picture of snow (as the script will have to parse out the snow from the cats paw).
So I need a method that will return a response to the browser that the file is invalid.
Any ideas?

A:

ImageMagick offers exactly this feature:
convert the_image.gif -define jpeg:size=32×32 -define jpeg:quality=95 out.jpeg

If the quality is too low, the file may still be valid, but the image will have a ‘jpeg
