Lighting a dead fish in a barrel fire, a unique technique used to conceal a body from sight, was employed in an effort to cover up the murder of freshman student, Desarae Greenwell, says police.
The 18-year-old Pittsburg State University freshman’s body was found Tuesday in a wooded area of Panther Creek on the campus of the southwest Kansas university.
Investigators are now looking into reports that students, including Greenwell, frequented the same bar on weekends. They said in the statement that six people from the bar were arrested in connection to the murder.
The bar, called Flashback, was closed down temporarily after the incident and shortly after was reopened. A formal announcement on the bar’s reopening will come later.
