1.) Will the points move continuously until collision occurs, or will collision be the only way to move them?
2.) What is your reason for the resolution to be 1280×1024? Why not the usual 800×600, for example?
Do we as developers have any say about the resolution we want to run at? Or does the user have to choose this value for us?
1.) No they move randomly. One is the line of sight, the other is a random transform, so both are different when starting the program.
2.) I wanted to run it at this resolution to see the little bits better on the screen, but now that I know it is way too big for my machine, I can scale it down to 800×600. I use a Win2000 machine, and it has an old GMA950 I/O chip.
3.) Does this project have any relation to the game Gravity Crush? No, it is not like that at all.
4.) Have you ever thought about actually uploading this code to as many other new projects might use it? If so, how? I could even host it for you.

How To Run: In order to run the Gravity Points application you will need to download an updated version of the Java CardEngine that supports.NET Framework 4.0.
How To Install: Make sure you have Java JDK 1.8 installed.
Unzip the downloaded file. Change the working directory to the Gravity Points archive and type the following command to run it.

Gravity Points is a windows screen saver with an interesting concept. It displays a bunch of points, all floating around the screen, attracted to one another. When two points collide they merge and grow and size till the new point eventually explodes. Gravity Points is fun, inspiring, and easy to use, ideal as a desktop view for people with aphasia and other speech disorders that have problems with communication. The points are each colored differently, and a new color is added to the changing color spectrum as each point explodes. Gravity Points also has a main screen, where you can set how much time to keep the points on the screen and for how long the points will grow, allowing you to keep control of the application.
The Gravity Points team developed the software to help people with speech difficulties. Like many other Speech issues, sometimes people with aphasia (aphasia, a disconnect between the brain and the body’s ability to produce and understand speech) also have problems with technology, and sometimes this affects how a person uses a screen-saver. They also wanted a screen saver that incorporated conversation, so you can watch the points float around, and you can talk to each other as they explode.
He also wanted to make it easy to use. The screen saver runs when your computer goes to sleep, so you don’t need to shut down your computer to use it. You don’t even need to configure it, it’s ready to use. You can add and remove points as they are added and explode, you can control how long they last, and you can choose to turn the screen saver off or on.

I love the concept of Gravity Points, it’s a lot of fun!
