Git client on Windows is not installing « Git for Windows »
I have recently updated my Windows 7 to Windows 10.
Before, I could install « Git » from « Software and Updates » and start using it immediately.
Now I have to install « Git for Windows » first (using registry key « Git ») in order to be able to use it.
If I do that, « Git » will be installed, but « Git for Windows » won’t.
I have to use « Git for Windows » even if I open it right away (by pressing its shortcut and not by selecting its installation option) or have any of those operations I am trying to do fail with an error (like trying to pull a remote branch in the remote repository).
All the other tools I tried to install (like « Git Bash » or « GitCygWin ») fail with errors (or the other way around).
Any suggestions?

Ok, I found the solution.
Apparently, Git for Windows is a package that installs an entry to the registry that points to « Git », so that « Git for Windows » appears as an installation option.
« Git for Windows » removes this entry in the registry.
To restore it, I just had to run the installer on Windows.
So, « Git for Windows » was removed because I used the Windows version of the installer (on Windows, they use that installer instead of the Git one).
