For the next few days, I will be streaming my beta version of Bighead Runner on my Twitch channel. The sound is pretty barebones, but I hope to get the first 10 or so levels up and playing soon.

As some of you have already realized, I don’t really get back to doing music very often. Part of this is because the Rift market is kind of saturated for this kind of game, and also because when I was working on my music game, I made sure that it wasn’t a ripoff of a well-known score. I have done some playtesting with this game, and the music is mostly effective. I will try to get some things to work correctly as I’m sure there’s a few bugs and I do plan on adding more music to the game, but I don’t want to overly inflate the music now.
I’ve also been working on a new gig. Something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time is have a storyline for the level, and this will be a first for me. For most of my games, I’ve been able to generate a story by making it up, or just being witty, but my roommate is actually a psychologist, so I am now going to take a hint from her and have an actual story for my music game, Bighead Runner. This is really exciting for me, as I’ve always wanted to make something like this. I’ve taken the liberty of translating the story here for everyone, though I’m sure I will be changing things as the game goes on. I will also eventually go through and replace the music in the levels I already have.
I’m probably going to be streaming a lot and working on Bighead Runner, but I will try to post all the progress, but it will probably take a few days to get into a schedule. I already have the next update done and ready to go and I don’t want to take too long on it.
So you wanted some music. This music isn’t very well-known. Actually, I haven’t heard of it until I was making it.
On top of that, it actually takes it’s plot from an anime series of the same name, Infinite Dendrogram. It also has some of the same characters. If you are unfamiliar with the show, it’s just a comedy about a delinquent who has trouble thinking straight. The main character is called Fire Whoosh (FLOW):
