What’s new in Mandinga – A Tale Of Banzo Soundtrack:


ABOUT ONE YEAR since the release of the last major piece of Banzo’s music — the 2010 album, “Light and Dark” — One Second Chance has been in the making of Banzo’s next album. The inspiration comes from the pieces of Banzo’s music he is currently listening to. He also gets inspiration from different creatives as well as his transcendental experiences out there in the wilds.

As of recording this piece, it will be about three to four months in the making. It is not a polished piece of music. It is an introspective piece of music recorded raw with the intention of being an introduction. Its a journey to understand and perceive what we are as we travel along the way of life.

Another work, “An African Tale” will be released a little later. For this experience, I am reaching out to some musicians and singer / songwriters, offering them to write some songs for the album. So it is a compilation of music.

As far as for future collaborations with other musicians, there are indeed a lot of talented musicians working in the music industry. Some you know, some you don’t. For the sake of time and space, there are various other stuff in my life — like my wife, kids, family, work — it distracts me from music than to participate in interviews.

For my solo piece, I will give it a soulful, jazzy feel, a style I have not explored yet in my solo project. I’m really looking forward to that as well. It is an introspective piece of music. Just as the name suggests, it is an African tale.
