The Portable RS Standing Waves software was designed to be a small tool that can help you calculate the standing waves in a home studio or recording room to damp or eliminate the frequencies where it will occur. The application is for PCs (all versions) and Macs. Both stand alone and run from a USB drive. It is ideal for a home studio or home recording studio.

Portable RS Standing Waves Installation:
Download the app from www.rs-waves.com:
1. Run the.exe file on your PC.
2. Run the.exe file on your Mac.
3. Plug in an audio device such as a headphone set or an external audio interface (which is preferable).
4. Click the « Open Files » button at the bottom of the window.
5. You can open and save files to a folder as you please.
6. After performing the conversion, your audio file will be converted and saved to the computer.
7. You can use the other functions of the software on any file you have opened.
8. To save the data in WAV format, click « save to file » and save the file to a folder of your choice.
9. You can adjust the audio settings of the sound card or audio interface which is connected.
10. You can click « Settings » and adjust the volume settings of your audio device.

All audio settings can be saved to « Preferences » or adjusted as you see fit.

Use this simple and easy-to-use portable RS standing waves calculation tool to work out, on the spot, the standing waves that you will experience as your project type is played back in your studio/recording room.
Portable RS Standing Waves features:
It’s a portable standalone application, which means that you don’t need to purchase anything to be able to use this app (no VST Plugin or DAW required).
You simply select the project type to work out which standing waves you will experience in your studio/recording room.
You select the frequency range to be displayed and the amount of frequencies to be displayed in the lower range.
You can then calculate and print out the answer as a ‘Standing Waves Report’ or ‘Log’ using the ‘Print’ option.
You may then adjust the expected ‘Effective Level’ of the project type so that you can compare the results against the levels you’ve heard.

As you can see, using the Portable RS Standing Waves app is fairly easy, simply select the project type, adjust the filters and the frequencies to display, press the Calculate button and press the Print button to print out the results.

This is a small tool that will help you calculate the standing waves in your home studio or recording room.
RS Standing Waves will calculate the presence of standing waves in your room based on the frequency response of your room.
It will also indicate the dampening of the specific frequencies from the presence of the standing waves.
These are based on the frequencies from 1,000Hz to 20,000Hz.
RS Standing Waves will also indicate the resonant frequencies based on the impedance from your equipment from 1,000Hz to 20,000Hz.
You can just enter the left or right dimensions of your room to get the standing waves.
There are other options for you to get a full report on the frequencies and their points of dampening as well.
RS Standing Waves Review:
Once you have entered the dimensions of your room, RS Standing Waves will scan your room to find the sound source(s) that are causing the sound to travel.
You can use the scan to find the specific frequencies where the sound is moving.
From there you can move your speakers to dampen those specific frequencies or work with the engineer to eliminate them by using absorbers or muffling the frequencies.
You can also utilize the RS Standing Waves to find the resonant frequencies in your room.
For those of us who have never been able to create a home studio in a small space, this is a great tool to have.
RS Standing Waves will take some time to get used to as you enter the dimensions of your room, but once you do, you will be able to use this little tool to help eliminate the unwanted frequencies.
