Silent Hill has been a cult favorite for ages. Both the Sony PlayStation video game and the movie were a huge hit at the turn of the century. The demo started with the « technology transfer to 1985 » cutscene. Then Scott Philips quotes a commencement address he gave at the University of Illinois as he was entering the world of Video Games. A Camaro rolls up and the car’s lasers shoot at Mario. There is also a commentary track with guests Jim Walls and Clinton Walker on remastering the game. 2015 Space Machine Contest Winners Announced! After more than 2,000 entries from 70 countries, six finalists have won second place in the 2015 Space Machine Contest!
Since 2009, the annual Space Machine Contest has been a fun way for engineers, scientists, and students to engage the public in exploration with outdoor science experiments. This year’s competition was even better than previous years.
This year’s jackpot is a $50,000 grand prize and the title of 2016’s Space Machine winner. This fall, the winning prototype, SciBlast Microbe Extraction, is ready to be launched as part of a crewed suborbital spaceflight, sponsored by Boeing and XCOR. This flight, set to take place in 2017, will be the third flight from XCOR’s facility on the Mojave Air and Space Port.
Prizes for 2nd and 3rd place are $10,000 and $5,000, respectively. Judges’ award prizes are $1,000 to $3,000 depending on the category. All costs associated with prizes are covered under the stipulations of the competition guidelines. Incentives for the winners vary by order of judges’ preliminary choices.

HOPE, the HOPE XLR8, dropped below the shore of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. About 60 miles from the astronaut known as HOPE, I watched it slowly sink toward the water, and I realized the machine had to be in a controlled descent, as it had been kicked off the beach by a wave of salt water.
My heart sank when I looked at the gear highlighted in yellow on the drawing of the Antares rocket. The rocket had successfully separated from the craft without causing any damage; the problem was the loss of flight control. The explosion of the craft we were determining.
We pulled the HOPE and replaced the rocket with an empty one. The exhaust was coming from the bottom of the craft and pouring into the wet sand. At the time there was nothing we could do to stop it.
