Organizing the Human Body Layer
A major characteristic of the Human Body layer is that it is an overlapping layer. Its appearance changes depending on how many other layers are on top of it. If you create a Human Body layer that is identical to the one you want to use, it will appear over all the other layers. However, it’s easier to just make a new layer (called a blank layer) and work with that instead. Figure 5-1 shows you an example of a Human Body layer with five layers beneath it.

Drawing a new layer
After a new layer is created (either through the New Layer button in the Layers dialog box or by pressing Ctrl+N), it’s empty, which means that it’s like a blank canvas that can be painted on or colored. You can either fill it with existing content from a layer below it or use Photoshop’s tools to create a completely new graphic.
Creating a new drawing
Using the Pen tool, a brush, or a selection tool, you can draw into a new layer. After you create a new layer, you can draw anything you want on it and even add text to it. Figure 5-2 shows you an example of a simple graphic I created.

In 2017 Photoshop elements 12 was introduced. This version introduced a new interface, had a new name and had a couple of major new features.

The government’s plan to create a three-pronged, tax-free savings plan — through the Canada Savings Plan (CSP), Child Tax Benefit and Universal Childcare Benefit — is three years too late, author and lawyer Kerri Judd argues.
